The age-old prejudice of misogyny is still retained in insidious form even legislations. There are numerous international conventions, as well Constitutional provisions which claim to set man and woman on an equal plane. In India, one legislative sphere prima facie appears perpetuate the gender divide personal laws. except for State Goa, matters determined basis religion. Different religions follow different laws, but what common them all, secondary position accorded women. This paper discusses dealing with human rights such as, Charter United Nations, 1945, Universal Declaration Human Rights,1948, International Covenant Civil Political Rights, 1966, Economic, Social Cultural 1966 Convention Elimination All Forms Discrimination against Women. elaborates providing equality investigates whether law applicable Hindu, Muslim, Christian women marriage, divorce, guardianship, inheritance discriminatory misogynistic nature. studies laws from date enactment till present day. method study doctrinal. As a road map or suggestion, analogous Uniform Code Goa highlighted. Judicial precedents cited, suggestions put forward.
